Background
Dr. Fatemeh Kazemi is a horticulturist and environmental manager with extensive academic teaching and research experiences in Australia and overseas.
She received her PhD from the University of South Australia (UniSA) in 2010. She then joined the School of Natural and Built Environment at UniSA as a Research Fellow (2010-2012). She continued her career as an academic member in Iran during 2012-2022 before joining Edith Cowan University as a lecturer.
Her research focus has been on sustainable urban horticulture and management, biodiversity and ecosystem services, and physiological responses of urban and production plants to their environment and abiotic stresses such as drought, salinity, and pollution. Her main research concern is finding real research-based practical solutions for industry through interdisciplinary collaborations and integrating scientific and professional principles of horticulture, sustainability, and environmental management.
By the end of 2023, she published over 50 journal papers in fully refereed English journals, with many of them published in Q1 journals. She has also supervised 40 M.Sc. by research and PhD students to complete their degrees. She is currently a guest editor for the Journal of Land and an editorial board member of the Journal of Urban Forestry and Urban Greening.
