Dr Kun Hu

Kun is a Lecturer in Computer Science in the School of Science.

Kun is a Lecturer specialising in multimedia computing and artificial intelligence. He received his Ph.D. from the University of Sydney in 2022. He has contributed to the field through 40+ top-tier publications, 25+ of which are ranked as CORE A*/A. He served as a guest editor for the journals IEEE JSTARS, and Remote Sensing. He is a publication chair for ACM MM Asia 2025, organized workshops at ACM MM 2024 and ACM MM Asia 2024, and chaired the PhD School at ACM MM Asia 2024. He also served on various technical program committees for conferences such as CVPR, ICML, MM, AAAI, ACL, IJCAI, ECCV, among others. He has been honored with the APRS (Australian Pattern Recognition Society) Best Paper Award in 2022 and 2023, and the ACM MM Asia 2024 Best Paper Runner-up Award.
