Dr Casper Avenant

In his role as Adjunct Lecturer, Casper supervises a MSc student from UWA who is investigating the flatback turtle (N. depressus) nesting behaviour and nest and hatchling behaviour at an important offshore island rookery in the Pilbara region of Western Australia.

Background

Between 2013 and 2023, Casper completed a BSc, MSc and PhD at Edith Cowan University. His PhD research focussed on the predation of sea turtle eggs and hatchlings along Western Australia Ningaloo coast and an island on the Pilbara coast.
