Dr Minh Nguyen

Minh is a lecturer at the School of Nursing and Midwifery at Edith Cowan University.

Background

Minh Nguyen is an energetic and forward-thinking Alumni of the School. In prior years, she held nurse lecturer positions in Vietnam. As an internationally trained nurse, she brings a real world understanding of the challenges and needs of international nurses into her teaching.

Research Areas and Interests

  • Long term health conditions (chronic disease) and multimorbidity: improving quality of life and long-term condition management through collaboration with individuals and healthcare teams.
  • Culture and health: Examining how cultural meanings shape health beliefs, illness experiences, and engagement with care.
  • Nursing education: Realism in teaching through community and expert engagement.
  • Theory and methodology: developing concepts and refining qualitative research approaches, including ethnography and focused ethnography.
