Associate Professor Mandy Towell-Barnard

Associate Professor Mandy Towell-Barnard is the Associate Dean (Teaching and Learning) in the School of Nursing and Midwifery and an Adjunct Research Fellow in the Centre for Nursing Research at Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital.

As ADTL, Mandy oversees the quality of teaching and learning in the School, accreditation processes and major course reviews to ensure the student experience, retention and success are as good as they can be.

Research Areas and Interests

A research focus on optimising clinical outcomes for families and patients with Type 2 diabetes, cognitive impairment, and morbid obesity within the acute care setting. Interest in emotional intelligence and preventing violence against healthcare workers in the acute care setting.
