We have three campuses in Western Australia. Joondalup and Mount Lawley in the Perth metropolitan area and our South West campus in Bunbury, 200km south of the Perth CBD.

Professor Jacques Oosthuizen
Prof Jacques Oosthuizen is the Professor of Occupational and Environmental Health, and established both the Occupational Hygiene and Environmental Health courses at ECU. Prof Oosthuizen is a Certified Occupational Hygienist (COH) and an experienced research supervisor with more than 40 PhD completions. Prof Oosthuizen’s research spans both occupational hygiene, environmental health, and epidemiology. His work focuses on evaluating exposures in high-risk settings, particularly chemical and particulate exposures, and he teaches into the Master of Occupational Hygiene and Toxicology course, where he also coordinates coursework research projects.
Jacques has been an academic in the area of Environmental Health and Occupational Hygiene since 1989, initially in South Africa. In 1999 Jacques was employed at Central Queensland University, and in 2001 he relocated to ECU where he established the undergraduate course in Environmental Health and the Post Graduate Master of Occupational Hygiene and Toxicology.
Prof Oosthuizen is transitioning to retirement and is not currently actively recruiting new PhD students; however, he is providing support and mentorship to other supervisors in the discipline area and coordinates research supervision for prospective research students.
