Dr Kiam Padamsey

Dr Kiam Padamsey is an epidemiologist whose research spans both occupational and general population health. Dr Padamsey holds a PhD in Environmental and Occupational Health from ECU (2024) with his research focused on harmful exposures in high-risk occupational settings, particularly the health impacts of bushfire smoke and other hazards faced by firefighters. He also contributes to broader public health research, applying epidemiological methods to understand and address major health issues affecting communities.

Dr Padamsey teaches across public health programs, with a focus on building students’ understanding of epidemiological principles and how they apply to real-world health challenges. Dr Padamsey is passionate about using research to inform practice and policy, and he brings this perspective into both his teaching and supervision.

He currently has capacity to supervise additional research students and welcomes enquiries from those interested in environmental or workplace exposures and occupational or public health epidemiology.
