Dr Faisal Awan

Faisal is a Technical Support Engineer at Edith Cowan University’s School of Engineering. He served as a Research Assistant at the Centre for Sustainable Energy and Resources from February to December 2022. He also worked as a sessional academic from January 2018 to December 2021 at the School. Previously, Faisal also served as an Assistant Professor/Lecturer in the Department of Petroleum and Gas Engineering at DUET in Pakistan.

Dr. Faisal has 10 years of technical support, teaching, research experience. He completed his PhD (ECU Joondalup, Australia), ME (MUET Jamshoro, Pakistan) and BSc (UET Lahore, Pakistan), all in Petroleum Engineering. His research interests are rock characterisation (in composite and particle form), wettability alteration, particle dispersion enhancement, flow through rocks/proppant packs, and application of nanoparticles in porous/fractured media. The skills that Faisal possesses are research articles, project planning and management, reviewing, and method design. Precisely, the software packages that Faisal can use are Eclipse-100, Origin graphing, MS Visio, MS Excel, MS Word, MS Powerpoint, Image-J, and several equipment / software (Zeta NanoSizer, Mastersizer, XRD, TOC, NMR, HPLC, GCMS, HPHT rolling ball viscometer, rheometer, porosimeter, streaming potential, HPHT core flooding, and API Fracture conductivity system). He is an active member of prestigious professional organisations such as Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE), American Chemical Society (ACS), Energy Institute (EI) and Energy Club of Western Australia (EC-WA).
