Professor Mehdi Khiadani

Professor Khiadani has several years of experience in the higher education system and consulting professions. He has dedicated his career to enhancing research, academic excellence, and engaging with industry in his field of research. He served as the Associate Dean (Research) within the School of Engineering at Edith Cowan University from 2016 to 2021. In this role, Professor Khiadani initiated and led research programs in the School, developing an excellent research environment and culture, and positioning the School among the highly-ranked engineering schools worldwide.

Professor Khiadani has published over 150 peer-reviewed journal articles and successfully supervised several higher degrees by research candidates to completion. He has secured several research projects funded by different industries. His research focuses on innovative water and wastewater treatment technologies coupled with renewable energy sources. Furthermore, Professor Khiadani has been involved in developing course curricula and teaching materials, ensuring that our educational programs are both innovative and aligned with industry standards. Through these comprehensive roles, he has significantly advanced the mission of ECU and the broader academic community.
