Dr Victoria Evans

Vicky is a Lecturer in Health and Physical Education in the School of Education.

Background

Vicky has a BSc in Sport and Physical Education and an MSc in Sport Coaching and Pedagogy from Cardiff Metropolitan University, in Wales, where she is from. In 2022, she moved to Western Australia after being awarded an Edith Cowan University International Higher Degree by Research Scholarship. Her PhD research focused on Health and Physical Education Teacher Education. During her doctoral studies, Vicky worked as a academic casual and a research assistant in the School of Education. Additionally, she actively contributed to the academic community as the Higher Degree by Research Student Representative for ECU's School of Education.

Vicky has research experience in Health and Physical Education, teacher education, policy work, and curriculum reform. She has developed a strong expertise in qualitative methodologies and a diverse range of research methods. Her research interests include the sociology of education, physical activity, sport, and the corporeality of policy work. Vicky is deeply committed to advancing the experience of those within the fields of education, teacher education, and HPE more broadly.
