Dr Patricia (Trish) Collins

Dr Trish Collins is a Lecturer in Early Childhood Studies at the School of Education.

Background

Trish worked in early childhood classrooms for 20+ years before becoming an early childhood consultant for Catholic Education Western Australia (CEWA) in the Kimberley region and then across the state.

Trish has also worked as a consultant for Early Life Foundation (Walker Learning). Her doctoral thesis focused on personal values (i.e., motivational goals) in childhood and how these impact children's well-being and behaviour.

Currently, Trish has expanded her research interests to include how pre-service teacher’s personal values could impact their teaching style, and as a part of the Centre for Excellence for the Digital Child, she is involved in several projects including a digital health study and a longitudinal study on the children’s technology use.
