Biography

Dr. Richard Hughes combines over 20 years of experience managing complex government programs with a rigorous academic focus on strategic oversight. As an active industry speaker and a member of the Project Management Institute, Richard bridges the gap between high-level research and industry best practices.

His research tackles the most pressing challenges in public sector governance, including the integration of large-scale initiatives and the promotion of sustainable, ethical project management. Richard is a leading voice on ethical decision-making, investigating topics such as sustainability in government projects, ethical AI in projects, and modern slavery within projects and their supply chains.

A multi-award-winning educator, Richard has received two Vice-Chancellor’s Awards and three School awards for his commitment to teaching and learning. He translates complex theory into actionable practice using an authentic approach to ensure his students are equipped to solve real-world problems in the workplace.
