Dr Mahan Poorhosseinzadeh

Biography

Mahan holds a PhD in Employment Relations (ER) and Human Resource Management (HRM) from Griffith University. Mahan’s professional journey is marked by her contribution to supervising research students, teaching diverse subjects in ER & HRM filed, and managing academic programs.

Prior to her position at ECU, Mahan served as a Senior Lecturer at the Australian Institute of Business (AIB), where her responsibilities encompassed teaching, development, and coordination of courses in leadership, management, and human resources management.

Her academic background was further developed through her previous roles at Griffith Business School’s Department of Employment Relations and Human Resources, as well as her position as a Research Fellow at Griffith University’s Centre for Work, Organization, and Wellbeing (WOW).

Mahan’s scholarly contributions include publications in prestigious journals and presentations at various academic conferences. Her active engagement extends to professional committees and editorial responsibilities, notably as an Associate Editor of the Journal of Industrial Relations (JIR), a member of the Executive Committee of the Association of Industrial Relations Academics of Australia and New Zealand (AIRAANZ), and as an ad hoc reviewer for international journals across the HRM, management, and industrial relations spheres. Her overarching ambition is to foster the development of inclusive work environments and to champion the empowerment of all individuals, with a particular focus on minorities and vulnerable groups, through avenues of employment, education, and research
