Associate Professor Laurie Hughes

Laurie undertakes research into the application and impact of artificial intelligence and digital technologies. He teaches on the Project Management program at ECU.

Biography

Dr Laurie Hughes is an Associate Professor within the School of Business and Law at Edith Cowan University in Western Australia.

Within academia he has published over 40 ABS articles in journals such as: International Journal of Information Management, Journal of Information Technology, Information Systems Management, IEEE Management, Annals of Operations Research, Information Systems Frontiers, Production Planning and Control, Information Technology and People.

Laurie has received a Google citation count of 9800 across a range of technology adoption focused research topics within leading academic journals in subjects such as: Artificial Intelligence (AI), Project Management, Information Systems, Industry 4.0 and Disaster Supply Chain Management. Laurie has extensive senior project management and consultancy experience in a variety of industry roles within manufacturing, finance, asset management, operations, and UK government.

Laurie is interested in developing research that focuses on the disruption of industry and society through AI and digital adoption and decision making in disaster and crisis management scenarios within a project management context.
