Professor Janine Joyce

Janine is the Associate Dean of Social Sciences, Social Work and Youth Work in the School of Arts and Humanities.

Research areas and interests

As an interdisciplinary social scientist with the ECU Research Centre for People, Place and Planet, Janine focuses on projects related to ecosystem resilience, climate justice and transformative responses to global environmental change. She is particularly interested in transdisciplinary participatory projects that build and maintain community adaptive capacity in response to ongoing stressors such as climate responsiveness, and other social-psychological-environmental stressors. She is experienced in contributing to projects that are both informed and prioritise Indigenous knowledge systems.
