Renae is a Lecturer within Kurongkurl Katitjin.

Background

Renae Isaacs-Guthridge is a proud Noongar and Yamatji woman with matriarchal connections across each Nation. An experienced educator for over 25 years, Renae has worked in a variety of roles from primary to higher education contexts. Renae is employed as a lecturer at Kurongkurl Katitjin, Edith Cowan University’s (ECU) Centre for Indigenous Australian Education and Research, teaching Aboriginal Contexts in Education to undergraduate and postgraduate pre-service teachers. She is passionate about Aboriginal education and questions the adequacy and cultural responsiveness of Australia’s colonial education system, forming the basis of her work towards a PhD titled Aboriginal student transition to university – a strengths-based approach.
